Lady Panthers edge Lady Comets in OT

OLIVE HILL, Ky. — A little extra work never hurt anyone, especially when it leads to a win.
The Chesapeake Lady Panthers went to overtime and came away with a 64-61 season-opening win over the West Carter Lady Comets Thursday.
Sydnee Hall scored 21 points and had 5 assists to lead Chesapeake. Jordan Porter had 16 points and 7 rebounds, Kaylee Curry 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Atiya Spaulding got 7 steals.
Chesapeake led 9-6 after the first quarter and 21-16 at the half.
West Carter outscored Chesapeake 16-9 in the third quarter — Porter had 7 of the Lady Panthers’ points — as the Lady Comets took a 32-30 lead.
But Hall scored 11 points in the fourth quarter to force the overtime.
The Lady Panthers outscored West Carter 14-11 in the overtime as Hall got 8 more points including 6-of-6 at the line.
West Carter (0-2) had four players in double figures. Brooke Adkins and Lexie Berry had 13 points each, Morgan Berry 12 and Stacey Easterling 11.
