Arthur Gustin

Oct. 29, 1937 — Dec. 23, 2013

 

Arthur Philip Gustin, 76, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at the St. Mary’s Medical Center-Ironton Campus. The Ironton native was born Oct. 29, 1937, a son to the late Nick and Helen Holderby Gustin.

Phil was a graduate of Green High School and a truck driver for Gustin Brothers. He formerly attended the Haverhill United Methodist Church. His hobbies included boating, racing and making candles and he was well-known for his catch phrase, “Bull’s A**.”

In addition to his parents a son, David Nicholas Gustin, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving daughter and buddy, Parletta “Party” Fannin, of Chesapeake; a son, Michael Gustin, of Ironton; a daughter, Andrea Ruggles, of Chesapeake; two brothers, Roger Gustin, of Franklin Furnace, and Bill Gustin, of Haverhill; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; Priscilla Rogers, of Oak Hill; and Stephanie Hall, of Flatwoods, Ky. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Haverhill Cemetery with pastor Mike Musser officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home in Ironton. Earl Powers

Earl Powers, 65, of Proctorville, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at his residence. His wife JoAnn Powers survives him. Arrangements are incomplete at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville.

 

 

Curtis Martin

Curtis Martin, 66, of Ashland, Ky., died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Friday at Preston Funeral Home in Ashland, Ky., with Dan Pancake officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin Family Cemetery. Carl Harmon

Carl Bible Harmon, 86, of Barboursville, W.Va., died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral service will be 7:30 p.m. Friday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with pastors Larry Greene and John Fry officiating. There will be a private family burial in the Prater Family Cemetery.
