Gloria Tackett
Gloria June Tackett was born Feb. 8, 1938, in Boyd County, Ky., to her parents Everett E. Dixon II and Viola Ruth Minor Dixon. She was married to her husband, Roy E. Tackett, Sept. 15, 1961. Born to this union were two sons, Roy E. Tackett (Kathy) and Dwain H. Tackett (Lougina), both of Ironton.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia R. Tumbleson, of Ironton, and Phyllis J. McWharter of Haverhill; and one great-grandchild, Titus Avery Robbins, of Vevay, Ind.
She is survived by a sister, Leona R. Rigsby, of Ironton; and a brother, Everett E. Dixon III, of Columbus, Ga.;  four grandchildren, Angela Robbins (Paul), of Vevay, Ind., Kimberly Dicken (Josh), of Madison, Ind., Rebecca Archibald (Stephen), of Salisbury, N.C., and Sarah Tackett, of Commerce, Ga.; and eight great-grandchildren.

Richard Pruitt
Richard “Dick” Pruitt, 64, of Scottown, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, in Huntington, W.Va. Funeral service will be conducted noon Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville by pastors Jim Dailey and Cleo Watson. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens. Fannie Maxine McKee, 89, of South Point, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va. Maxine was born April 14, 1924, in Lawrence County, a daughter of the late Floyd W. Riley and Atfa Mae Hammond Riley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Pete” McKee; four sisters; four brothers; one grandson, Carl Crabtree Jr.; and two great-grandchildren. She attended Sunrise Church of the Nazarene. Maxine is survived by two children, Linda Crabtree and Earl McKee; one sister, Mildred Moore; five grandchildren, Kathleen Ellis, Brenda Kelley, Carolyn Barnett, Kristin McKee and Michael McKee; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point with the Rev. Bryan Chaffins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point.
