Kenneth Hammond

Oct. 1, 1934-March 27, 2014

Kenneth Patrick Hammond, 79, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014. The Lawrence County native was born Oct. 1, 1934, the son of the late Nick and Mattie Duty Hammond.

Mr. Hammond was a graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School and a former maintenance worker for the Ironton Iron Company. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Gerald Hammond, George Hammond, Oscar Hammond, and Donald Hammond; and two sisters, Dorothy and Glen Townsend and Ruth and Lonnie Butler.

He is survived by two sons, Gary and Teresa Hammond and Frank Hammond, all of Ironton; a sister, Iva and Ray Bentley of Coal Grove; two granddaughters, Hannah Hammond of Ironton and Taylor Hammond of Chesapeake; two great grandsons, Dylan Hammond of Chesapeake and Jacob Nicely of Ironton; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside services will be noon Tuesday at Woodland Cemetery with  the Rev. James Cremeans officiating. There will be no public visitation and military graveside rites will be performed by the VFW Post 8850. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

 

Clarence Farmer

Clarence E. Farmer, 96 of Flatwoods, Ky., died on Friday, March 28, 2014, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Flatwoods. Visitation is from 6-7 p.m. at the church. Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods is in charge of arrangements.

 

 

Teddy Snyder

Teddy Joe Snyder, 50, of Crown City, died Friday, March 28, 2014, at home.

He is survived by his wife Betty Dingess Snyder. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, by pastor Luther Dingess.  Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller.  Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Jack Wilson

Jack Michael Wilson, 38, of Willow Wood, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Dave Layne officiating. Burial will follow in Brethern (Wilson) Cemetery and visitation will be Monday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Freddie Walbright

Freddie Walbright, 78, of Ironton, died Friday, March 28, 2014, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Gayle Walbright. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.

 

 

Linda Hamilton

Linda Louise Hamilton, 67, of Barboursville, W.Va., died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She is survived by her husband, John Drost. There will be no services. Arrangements are by Hall Funeral Home.
