Vikings pound New Boston, 17-6

NEW BOSTON — The Symmes Valley Vikings are still rolling.

The Vikings pounded out a 17-6 five-inning win Tuesday over the New Boston Tigers in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

Symmes Valley had 13 hits as they improved to 9-2 overall and 7-1 in the SOC.

“We did hit the ball pretty well. We got the lead and we were able to give our pitchers a lot of work,” said Vikings’ coach Chad Renfroe.

Lane Wilson was 2-2 with a double and a triple to lead the Vikings. Seth Jarrell was 2-4 and Jacob Easthom 2-3.

Wilson tripled home a pair of runs to highlight an 8-run third inning. The Vikings had four hits, two walks and hit batsman in the inning.

Wilson also doubled home two runs in the fourth inning as the Vikings had five hits and two walks in the five-run uprising.
