AID — Kaitlyn Payne had something about three hits.

Payne pitched a three-hitter and collected three hits as the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings shutout the Sciotoville East Lady Tartans 10-0 Tuesday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

Payne — who went 3-3 — struck out eight and walked two for the win.

The Lady Vikings took a 2-0 lead in the first inning.

Sierra Ross walked, stole second and Payne had an RBI single. Payne came around on a wild pitch and Caitlin Carpenter’s base hit.

A run scored in the fourth when Stephanie Brown doubled and Ross singled.

The Lady Vikings (13-2, 11-2) erupted for seven runs in the fifth.

With one out, Carpenter walked, Brenna Morris singled, Autumn Keathley hit into a fielder’s choice and Kalli Hunt singled in a run.

Brown singled in a run, Ross doubled home a pair, Payne singled in a run and —after Tiara Hatfield singled — Hannah Maynard had a two-run single.
