BIDWELL — Playing two games in two days against the same team brought the same results: a win.

Fairland beat River Valley Lady for the second straight day as the Lady Dragons had nine hits in a 9-4 Ohio Valley Conference win over the Lady Raiders Thursday.

“It’s tough to play a team back-to-back, but our girls did a nice job hitting the ball and we got good pitching again,” said Fairland coach Mindy Clark.

Allison Shepherd and Chandler Fulks combined to limit River Valley to four hits. Fulks went four innings to get the win. She struck out eight and walked two.

River Valley led 3-0 after three innings, but Fairland scored twice in the fourth.

Shepherd and Fulks walked and two passed balls scored a run. Tiffani Christian then doubled home a run.

Fairland took a 4-3 lead in the fifth.

Caitlin Stone doubled and Maddie Kazee singled for a run. Fulks and Olivia Adkins walked and a passed ball scored the go-ahead run.

The Lady Dragons scored five times in the sixth.

Christian and Morris singled and moved up on a double steal. A passed ball scored a run.

Shepherd hit into a fielder’s choice for a run, Fulks walked and Adkins and Kortney Curry followed with RBI singles.
