Goldie Massie

Goldie Massie, 86, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Lawrence County native was born Sept. 27, 1927, the daughter to the late Crawford and Parnell Cornell McGlone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Massie.

Mrs. Massie attended Ironton High School, was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Goldie Mae McGlone, Sara Fisher, Anna Kingery, Lucille Gillenwater and Eva Adkins; and two brothers, John McGlone and Frank McGlone

She is survived by three sons, Frank Edward and Ann Massie, of Proctorville, Oscar Massie, of Rising Sun, and George and Shirley Massie, of Rush, Ky.; brother, William “Bill” McGlone, of South Point; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home with pastor John Paul Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Mildred Pauley

Mildred Elaine “Millie” Pauley, 66, of Ironton, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Lawrence County native was born July 22, 1947, daughter to the late Paul Edward Thompson and Lula Mayo. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Tim Pauley.

Mrs. Pauley is a 1965 graduate of Rock Hill High School. For many years, she provided comfort to local families as a private home health aide. She was a people person whose friendly smile and warm personality could quickly turn strangers into friends. She was very close to her family, as a beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Her family relied upon her for the strength and loving care she provided them. After retirement, she spent her days talking with family and friends, playing with her dog, Chloe, and spoiling her grandson, Jayson.

Mrs. Pauley was preceded in death by her late husband, Paul Diamond, of Ironton; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Jean Pauley, of South Point.

She is survived by her son, Shayne Daugherty, of Columbus; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Chuck Smith, of Kitts Hill; grandson, Jayson Smith, of Kitts Hill; sisters, Janet Neal, of Ironton, and Vicki Benton, of Wheelersburg; and brother and sister-in-law Eddie and Azzie Thompson, of Coal Grove.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Don Delawder officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. At the family’s request, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the American Lung Association. Elizabeth McClelland

Elizabeth Lewis McClelland, 59, of Ashland, Ky., died Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. Funeral will be noon on Friday at Bible Baptist Church in Catlettsburg, Ky. with pastor Dennis Miles officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland, Ky. Robert Hale

Robert J. (Bob) Hale, 82, of South Point, died, Monday, May 26, 2014, at Jo-Lin Health Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point with the Rev. Lenny Campbell and pastor Gary Henry officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Kentucky Veterans’ Cemetery, NE, Argillite, Ky. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
