Robert Hale

Robert J. (Bob) Hale, of South Point, was born June 24, 1931, in Ashland, Ky., to the late William and Minnie (Church) Hale. He passed away Monday, May 26, 2014, at Jo-Lin Health Center. He was 82 years old.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Phyllis (Fullerton) Hale; one daughter, Cathy (Andy) Mann, of Ironton; three sons, Rob (Lori) Hale, of South Point, Mark Justin Hale (Randi) Wrigh,t of Joplin, Mo., and Tim (Johnda) Hale, of Dayton; 13 grandchildren, Jason and Carrie Kinder, Sarah and Tal Callihan, Scott Kinder, Dean and Michelle Hale, Stacey and Jamie Chiero, Jacob Hale, Tom and Katie Hale, Chad Hale, Kayln and Garrett Mann and Will, Sam and Sophie Hale; and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Fred (Linda) Hale; one sister, Mary Letsche; and sister-in-law Libby Hale.

Bob loved his family and was always glad to see them. He worked 11 years for Iron City Lincoln Mercury and 32 years at Kentucky Electric Steel, from where he retired. He was a member of Sunrise Church of the Nazarene and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point with the Rev. Lenny Campbell and pastor Gary Henry officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery NE in Argillite, Ky. The grandsons will be the pallbearers. James Mills

James Harris Mills, 65, of Huntington, W.Va., died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Wayne, W.Va. Proctorville VFW Post 6878 will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation is noon-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Gladys Dials

Gladys Dials, 96, of Canal Winchester, formerly of Proctorville, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Altercare of Canal Winchester. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville by the Rev. Roger Mooney. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington, W.Va. Bob Delong Jr., 81, of Waupaca, Wis., originally of Kitts Hill, died Tusday, May 27, 2014. Funeral is today in Waupaca.
