Mobile farmers market to be offered at Chesapeake

In cooperation with the Community Action Organization of Scioto County, a free Mobile Farmers Market will offer fresh fruits and vegetables and other Farmer’s Market items this Wednesday at Chesapeake United Methodist Church.

The produce will be open between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at Chesapeake. The service is being provided to families whose household income is 200% of the federal poverty guideline or below.

The church continues be the site for the CAO summer lunch program from 11:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. each weekday. All meals are free, and include cooked entrees, vegetables, fruit, and milk. All children and youth age 18 and younger are welcome, and young adults 21 and younger with disabilites are welcome as well.

The church is located at the corner of Second Avenue and Fifth Street in Chesapeake. Lunches will be available all summer, with the exception of Independence Day, July 4. Questions are welcome at 740-867-3848 or chesapeakeumc@gmail.com.
