Gas station robbed
SOUTH POINT — Law enforcement are looking for a man who they say robbed the Speedway gas station in South Point early Wednesday morning.
According to a release from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, the Speedway at the corner of U.S. 52 and Charlie Creek Road was held up at about midnight.
A white male suspect allegedly asked the clerk for a cartoon of cigarettes and as the clerk was getting the carton, the suspect demanded money from the register.
“The suspect never showed any type of weapon but kept reaching under his shirt,” according to the release. “The clerk felt threatened and gave an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.”
The male suspect is described as white, 6 feet two inches tall and wearing a plaid flannel shirt with an orange shirt underneath, blue jeans and black and grey Nike Shox.
The suspect was last seen near the Kentucky Fried Chicken close by the Speedway.
Detectives are in the process of obtaining video from Speedway and surrounding businesses.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 740-532-3525.
