LAVALETTE, W.Va. — The Coal Grove Hornets played with their first team and it was evident.

The Hornets rested several frontliners on Monday but they were back in action Wednesday as Coal Grove posted a 164 team score and beat the South Point Pointers who had a 199 total in a two-team golf match.

Brent Morgan took medalist honors with a 35 to lead the Hornets.

Trevor Deere shot a 40, Chase McKnight carded a 44, Brandon Adkins and Tori Holmes each had a 45 while Ryan Malone finished with a 50.

Eddie Chinn and Logan Wade each fired a 48 to lead the Pointers. Beau Taylor was next with a 51, Madison Riley had a 52, Barbara Collins 53 and Mackenzie Evans-Schweickart 70.
