Help on insurance available

Ohioans have less than a week to sign up/re-enroll for health insurance offered in the marketplace for coverage effective at the start of 2015.

Ohioans must sign up (or re-enroll) by Dec. 15 to have coverage effective Jan. 1, 2015. Nearly one million adults in Ohio have no health insurance.

As trusted resources — of care and information — in some of our most underserved neighborhoods, our statewide network of Community Health Centers serve more than 550,000 Ohioans each year, many of whom are uninsured. Ohio’s Health Centers have assisted thousands in evaluating their options, connecting them to coverage and taking time to offer education on how to use and understand their new benefits.

Many Ohioans will receive financial assistance to pay for health insurance premiums. Certified Application Counselors at Ohio’s Community Health Centers are trained, unbiased resources that will answer questions and walk consumers through the enrollment process face to face, regardless of whether they qualify for Medicaid or private coverage.

Ohio’s Community Health Centers provide integrated whole person care, oftentimes providing onsite dental, behavioral, pharmacy, vision and other needed supplemental services under one roof, including free in-person enrollment services.

Each Health Center is different with one common purpose: to provide comprehensive primary health care services that are coordinated, culturally and linguistically competent and community directed.
