Induction ceremonies Saturday for new Ironton HOF members

The tailor has a new set of orange blazers.

The Ironton High School Athletic Hall of Fame will present a new orange blazer to the five new members to be enshrined Saturday during induction ceremonies that include their introduction during the three basketball games schedule prior to the event.

Former players and coaches Carl White, Phil Rice and Bill Washburn, All-American gymnast Bobbi Ann (Hunt) Triplett, and former player and team physician Dr. John Leach will be inducted during ceremonies Saturday in the high school cafeteria.

The day will begin with a basketball game between Belpre and Rose Hill Christian at 2 p.m. followed by the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers and the Raceland Lady Rams at 3:45 p.m. and the Fighting Tigers and at 5:30 p.m. against Columbus South, one of the top teams in Central Ohio.

Members of the Hall of Fame class will be introduced before the boys’ game.

Tickets for the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies are $15 at the door.

However, fans attending the basketball games who want to attend the enshrinement dinner can purchase tickets at the Conley Center doors for $10 a single and $20 for couples.

There is no presale of tickets.
