LLOYD, Ky. — Not only has it been an up-and-down season for the Chesapeake Lady Panthers, but Monday was an up-and-down game.

The Lady Panthers played like they were on a rollercoaster in a 59-48 loss to the Greenup County Lady Musketeers.

“We came out and played poorly the first quarter and then we got back into the game in the second quarter,” said Lady Panthers’ coach Chris Ball.

“But overall, they just outplayed us. You have to give them credit.”

Kaylee Curry had a game-high 20 points, 11 rebounds and two blocked shots to lead the Lady Panthers (10-9).

Sydnee and Natalee Hall grabbed five rebounds each with Sydnee Hall handing out three assists.

Micah Leslie scored 17 points including 10 of 12 at the foul line to lead Greenup (9-11). Kate Campbell scored 12 points and Jordan Moore added 11.

Kaylee Curry scored 10 points in the second quarter as Chesapeake rallied to get within 24-23 at the half.

Moore had 7 points in the first quarter and Campbell hit a pair of 3-pointers as Greenup took a 20-8 lead.

Leslie got 6 points in third quarter as Greenup pulled away to a 41-35 lead. She had 10 more points fourth quarter as she converted 6 of 6 at the foul line.

Kelsey Curry hit a 3-pointer and Sydnee Hall was 3 of 4 at the line in the fourth quarter but it proved to be too little.

Chesapeake hosts Coal Grove starting at 6:30 p.m. with a two-quarter jayvee game on Thursday.
