IRONTON — It was like the faucet on a bathroom sink. One knob for hot and one for cold.

The South Webster Lady Jeeps had the hot water while the Fairland Lady Dragons got stuck with the cold faucet.

While Fairland shot only 33 percent, the Lady Jeeps shot 51 percent as they beat the Lady Dragons 58-46 on Saturday in the Tackett’s Body Shop Shootout.

South Webster (17-1) was 19-of-37 from the field compared to Fairland’s 16-of-48 shooting.

Ellie Jo Johnson scored 23 points and had seven rebounds to lead South Webster. Kacie Hall scored 16 points and Cheyenne Weakley added 10.

Kelsey Riley scored 17 points and Caitlin Stone had 13 points for the Lady Dragons (16-4).

Fairland’s Mackenzie Riley raked in 12 rebounds and had three assists while Stone had six rebounds and Jenna Fulks got four steals.

South Webster led 11-6 after the first quarter but Fairland got within 24-23 at the half.

Each team scored 16 points in the third quarter and then the Lady Jeeps outscored the cold-shooting Lady Dragons 18-7 in the fourth quarter to pull away to the win.
