Fulks, Massie key Lady Vikings’ win

WILLOW WOOD — It was quite a senior night for Elly Fulks and Kelsey Massie.
The two Symmes Valley seniors enjoyed big nights as the Lady Vikings easily beat the Sciotoville East Lady Tartans 58-8 Wednesday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.
Fulks scored a career-high 21 points and had six steals while Massie finished with 6 points, three rebounds and four steals.
“Fulks and Massie have been a great asset to the program both on and off the court,” said Lady Vikings’ coach Brandon Walker.
“They’ve been great leaders who work hard and play hard. They are outstanding young ladies who will be missed.”
Kaitlyn Payne added 9 points and had four rebounds. Jensyn Shepherd also had three rebounds while Breanna Brumfield had five assists and Meranda Hayes had three assists.
Fulks scored 9 points in the first quarter as the Lady Vikings went up 15-0.
Payne and Fulks combined for 11 points in the second quarter and it was 30-3 at the half.
Fulks scored 6 more points in the third quarter as the lead went to 45-4. Massie and Maddie Scott had 4 points each in the fourth quarter.
The Lady Vikings play South Gallia at 7 p.m. on Monday at Meigs High School in the Division IV sectional tournament.
