Loretta Moore
Loretta S. “Goose” Moore, 95, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. The Lawrence County native was born May 29, 1919, the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Bro Slaughter.
Mrs. Moore was a 1938 graduate of Ironton High School and a former employee for Wilson’s Sporting Goods. She was a member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church in Ironton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Hildreth Ann Crawford; a son, Fred Moore; a sister, Mary Alberta Copley; a brother, Leo Albert Slaughter; grandchild, Rob Ferguson; and grandchild, Jerry Moore.
She is survived by a son, Robert “Bobby” J. Moore of Stout; 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Mike Dietrich; and numerous nieces and nephews
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church Thursday. Norman Heffner
Norman Heffner, 84, husband of Haney Heffner, of Chesapeake, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at home. Funeral service will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by pastor D.L. Webb of Sybene Baptist Church. James Robert Mineer, Jr., 50, of Ironton, husband of Bobi Keaton Mineer, died Thursday, Feb.19, 2015 at King’s Daughters’ Medical Center. Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Friday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point. Visitation is from 4-6 p.m. Friday.
