Utility workers trying to help

I read your editorial “Common sense must prevail.”

With today’s technology and warnings about weather, there is no excuse to not be prepared. I understand some of our neighbors are not able to do this on their own.

The majority of us, however, are capable. I myself didn’t have to do without electricity, but I have done without water due to frozen lines. Doing without utilities is tough but living in a rural is something you have to deal with.

If you use common sense, you should know living this lifestyle is the way it is. AEP and Buckeye Rural are doing the best they can to restore the comforts of home that we are all used to.

The employees of these companies are spending time away from their own families trying to make yours more comfortable.

Be patient and be kind.
