March 19 is Certified Nurses Day. Each year, nurses across the globe are recognized for their commitment to earn and maintain the highest credentials in their specialty by achieving national board certification.
At Ohio University Southern, the following faculty members are board certified registered nurses: Beth Delaney (certified family nurse practitioner); Ginger Hardy (certified nurse midwife); Molly Johnson (certified pediatric nurse practitioner); and Dr. Nicole Pennington (certified maternal newborn).
Additionally, the National League of Nursing recognizes nurses who have successfully completed the examination to become a Certified Nurse Educator. For the Southern campus, Molly Johnson and Annette Ferguson are certified nurse educators. This specialized certification allows faculty to demonstrate their expertise in the field of nursing education, above and beyond other levels of professional credentialing.
