Lana Kuhn

Lana Dee (Fayne) Kuhn, 64, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015, at her home in Franklin Furnace. She was born to the late Charles and Imogene (Jean Pemberton) Fayne on Sept. 19, 1950, in Ironton.

Lana married the love of her life, Tim Kuhn, on June 22, 1989. In support of Tim’s career, Lana left her beloved home and family, setting up new homes and friendships in Montgomery, Alabama, Marianna, Florida, Leesburg, Florida, Dorado, Puerto Rico, and Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, then finally returning to the hills she loved and the family she missed and cherished.

Lana attended Dawson-Bryant High School in Coal Grove where she was in the band and a majorette. She worked in various fields throughout her career and retired from Citi Bank as one of its top managers.

Family and friends were Lana’s passion and delight. She had a zest for life and lived to the fullest. She enjoyed nature, singing, golfing, softball and “winning” at euchre. She was a loving wife, supportive mother, loyal sister and compassionate friend. In later years, Lana’s greatest joy was from her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her love for humanity compelled her to help others in need, whether they were strangers, friends, family or even animals. Through her courageous nine-year battle against cancer, Lana felt obligated to share her experiences with others who were similarly affected. Her message was always the same, “stay strong and never give up the fight.” Her closeness to God gave her strength to live a great and happy life to the end. Those who knew her never saw the pain and suffering she experienced. She never gave up, but her body did. She will stay in the hearts and minds of those she touched forever.

She is survived by her husband, Tim; a son and daughter-in-law, Robbie D. and Janelle Roberts; grandchildren, Amanda Roberts, Ericha Roberts, Drew Roberts, Brock Roberts; great-grandchildren, Makayla Roberts and TaiVon Mestel; sisters, Gloria and Ed Davis, of South Point, and Cathy Jo and Tim Olson, of Pedro; a cousin, Eddie Fayne, who was like a brother to her; four nieces and nephews; and 12 great-nieces and nephews.

Lana was very close and will be dearly missed by Tim’s family, father-in-law, Joseph Kuhn, and sister-in-law, Alison Seidner, both of Melbourne, Florida; brother and sisters-in-law, Kris and Melinda Kuhn, of Memphis, Tennessee, and Michael and Debbie Kuhn, of Erie, Pennsylvania; and seven nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday with no scheduled ending time at the Kuhn Family home, 777 Braunlin Road, Franklin Furnace. The family has requested anyone that knew Lana or had your life touched by her to please attend the celebration and share your stories. If you are unable to attend, please go to www.tracybrammerfh.com and share your stories and memories of Lana or call 740-531-6764 during the Celebration of Life to share your stories with the family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you do a special deed for someone in Lana’s name. Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
