CHESAPEAKE — The April 15 deadline for filing income tax returns is looming and the Chesapeake H&R Block will be on hand Monday to answer questions about the process.

Called Ask an H&R Block Tax Pro, tax professions will be at the Ponderosa in South Point from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. to meet with anyone who has questions. The event is not for filing taxes, but simply to answer the public’s questions.

The employees will also take donations for the Chesapeake Community Center’s Easter basket giveaway.

Jacqueline Hernandez, tax associate office manager of the Chesapeake locations, said they will accept monetary donations, as well as items for the gift baskets. Items may include packages cookies, wrapped candy, small stuffed animals and toys, plastic eggs, lip balm and sports balls.

H&R Block, at 1 Chesapeake Plaza, will also take donations at its office until April 1.

After April 1, Hernandez said, the location will accept food donations for the community center’s food pantry.
