PEDRO — Just like the Three Musketeers, it’s all for one and one for all with the Rock Hill Redwomen.

Using a team effort, the Redwomen beat the Coal Grove Lady Hornets 7-2 on Friday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

“Every single player contributed,” said Rock Hill coach Sam Gue. “If we need a bunt, we got a bunt. If we needed a hit, we got a hit. We’re playing pretty solid right now.”

Rock Hill (12-0, 4-0) had eight hits as Kaci Russell went 2-for-3 to lead seven different players with a hit.

Jill Hairston got the win as she gave up seven hits, struck out six and did not issue a walk.

Kasey Murphy took the loss as she fanned five, walked one and hit a batter.

Rock Hill took a 3-0 lead in the first inning.

Russell singled and went to second on an error. Jenna Lane singled her to third and stole second. Hairston reached on a missed third strike as Russell scored.

Hairston stole second, MaKenzi Harrah hit a sacrifice fly and a passed ball scored the final run.

The lead went to 6-0 in the third.

Hairston singled, Harrah reached on an error, Riann Keating singled in a run, and Brooklynn Kingrey had a squeeze bunt for a run. Anna Darby’s RBI singled capped the rally.

The Redwomen got their final run in the fourth when Russell singled, moved up on a passed ball, stole third and scored on a throwing error.

“Kaci has great instincts on the base paths,” said Gue.

Coal Grove scored its runs in the fifth when Brooke Blakeman reached on an error, Lauren Meyer double and Deanna Bentley had a two-run single.

Meyer went 3-4 for the Hornets (5-2, 2-2).
