Jean Ratliff

Jean Rose Ratliff, 87, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell. The Ironton native was born May 5, 1928, a daughter of the late Homer Edward Hall and Levina Crown Hall. She was preceded in death on June 25, 2012, by her husband, Harold Eugene “Bebob” Ratliff, whom she married Aug. 28, 1948.

Mrs. Ratliff was a graduate of Ironton High School and a retired Nazarene minister. She was the former pastor of Kehoe Church of Nazarene, Rosemount Church of the Nazarene, West Portsmouth Church of the Nazarene, Faith United Church of the Nazarene, associate pastor of the Worthington Church of the Nazarene and has been attending the Plaza Community Nazarene Church. She and her late husband, Harold, were certified volunteer missionaries with Church of the Nazarene and had completed 29 mission trips.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Homer Hall; and sister, JoAnn Salyer.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Harold Eugene and Patty Ratliff Jr., of Swanton; son and daughter-in-law, Frank Edward and Edie Ratliff, of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Veronica Ann and Charles R. Nunley of Flatwoods; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and “adopted” children.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at the First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Kevin Campbell and the Rev. Rob Hale officiating. A private burial will take place in Woodland Cemetery.

Margaret Schneider

Margaret Claire Schneider, 87, of Chesapeake, died Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Heartland of Riverview in South Point. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rome Cemetery in Proctorville with pastor Harold Hamlin officiating. Slack and Wallace Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Ada Daniels

Ada Lucille Clay Daniels, 76, of Ohio Furnace, departed this life peacefully Friday, May 22, 2015, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. The Lawrence County native was born April 9, 1939, a daughter of the late Carroll and Mildred Arthurs Clay Norris, and stepdaughter of the late Oscar Norris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Edward Daniels.

Mrs. Daniels attended school in Coryville, was a homemaker and active in the City Mission Church in Ironton since 1998.

In addition to her parents, stepfather and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Kevin Daniels and Ralph Daniels, Jr.; and sister, Carol Laverne Robinson.

She is survived by four daughters, Carolyn Hopper, Catherine Monnig, Marilyn (Paul) Waginger and Doris (Eric) Boyd, all of Ironton; two sons, Timothy Lee Daniels and Van Arthur Daniels, both of Ironton; sister, Linda G. Dyer, of Coal Grove; nine grandchildren and extended family; and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Arthurs officiating. Burial will follow in Haverhill Cemetery with visitation at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service. Glenn Finley

Glenn G. Finley, 82, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ashland Cemetery with Pastor Jim Orrick and Kenny Hurst officiating.

Glenn was born June 5, 1932, in South Point, a son of the late Dewey and Cora Caudill Finley. He was a 1950 graduate of South Point High School, a former member of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a Federal Treasury Law Enforcement Officer (Internal Security Division) and a property and casualty claims manager for Westfield Insurance Company in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Carroll Finley; one son, Glenn A. (Janie Wyatt) Finley, of Franklin Furnace; twin sister, Gladys Woodburn, of Ironton; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Jane Finley.
