Brenda Evans

Brenda Christine Sites Evans, 65, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born March 13, 1950, a daughter of the late Homer and Ethel Christian Sites. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Bob Evans, whom she married June 24, 1972.

Mrs. Evans was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and Ohio University. She was a schoolteacher for the Rock Hill Elementary School. She was a member of the Etna Missionary Baptist Church, loved sewing and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Kevin Scott Eaches; and numerous aunts and uncles.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Ryan Lee Evans of Ashland, Kentucky; a daughter, Julie Eckenrode of Columbus; a sister, Sharon Eaches of Hecla; and a granddaughter, Vivanie Juliet Evans of Ashland, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, with pastor Greg Frasure officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery and visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Mary Ollie Whitt Perry, 63, of South Point, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with pastor Charles Lane and pastor Robert Carter officiating. Ada Blanton-Caudill died on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at the Life Care Center of Port St. Lucie in Florida.
