SOUTH POINT — Due to a water line break, South Point Water has issued a boil water advisory for residents on the following streets: Sixth, Seventh, Ninth, Tenth, 11th, Linden, Auburn, Nelson, Park, Center, Margaret, Dean, Keith, Shannon, Washington, High, Alma and Fairview.

Residents are asked to vigorously boil any water used for drinking, cooking or oral hygiene for a least one minute.

The South Point Water Department has no evidence at this time that the water system is contaminated. The possibility does exist, however, and is issuing the advisory as a precaution.

If not further notice is given after Saturday, then samples are normal and the water is safe.
