Harry Spears

Harry Long Spears, 92, of Proctorville, died Saturday, June 13, 2015. He was born May 28, 1923, in Proctorville, son of the late Charles and Rosa Drummond Spears. He retired from Columbia Gas Company with many years of service. He was a WWII Army veteran serving in the European Theater Allied Command Headquarters.

He was also preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Arce Daniels Spears; a brother, Baxter Spears; a sister, Cora Judd; and two younger brothers who died in childhood. He is survived by a sister, Sara Nell (William) Adkins of Ona, West Virginia; son, Michael (Miriam) Spears of Batavia; granddaughter, Melinda (Chris) Marcum of Crown City; special great-grandson, Christopher Marcum; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Betty Sheppard of Columbus; many friends at Braggs Garage in Proctorville; and long-time friends Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Marsh.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by pastor Jason Morris. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller. Proctorville VFW Post 6878 will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Kenneth Watson

Kenneth Ray Watson, 81, of Wheelersburg, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. The Ironton native was born May 26, 1934, the son of the late Adam and Bessie Shepherd Watson. Kenneth was also preceded in death by his wife, Lorrie Middleton Watson, whom he married June 21, 1954.

Kenneth retired from the Bloom-Vernon Local School District as a custodian. He was a member at Bloom Freewill Baptist Church in Scioto Furnace.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Rose Walters, Orpha Webb, Marie Harris and Connie McNeely; and four brothers, Floyd Watson, Dave Watson, Adam Watson, Jr. and Kearnie Watson.

Kenneth is survived by one daughter, Brenda Watson Blake, and husband, Mark of Wheelersburg; one grandson, Rob Blake and wife, Patty of Wheelersburg; one granddaughter, Kelly Blake Gleim, and husband Daniel of Wheelersburg; one great-grandson, Elijah Blake of Wheelersburg; and one brother, Lloyd Watson of Springfield.

Judy Chinn

Judy Ann Chinn, 60, of Ironton, passed away Monday, June 15, 2015, at Sunset Nursing Center. The Ironton native was born June 10, 1955, a daughter of Ailene Hubbard Chinn of Ironton and the late Shelby Chinn Jr.

Ms. Chinn was a graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School and was a former loan officer for Star Credit Union. She was saved and baptized at Leatherwood Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brianna Mulkey.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Malissa (James R.) Mulkey of Zebulon, North Carolina; a brother, Terry Chinn of Laurel Hill, North Carolina; two sisters, Deloras “Jeanie” (Daniel) Neville and Deborah (Vernon “Butch”) Keeney, both of Ironton; and three grandchildren, Drew Tate, James Mulkey Jr. and Brittany Mulkey.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. David Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens and visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Justin Hamm

Justin Walker Hamm, passed Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.

He is survived by his parents, Keith and Haley Sammons Hamm; brother, Easton Mathew Hamm;paternal grandparents, Carrie and John Mullins; paternal grandfather, Eric Hamm; maternal grandparents, Mark and Jenny Sammons; and several aunts and uncles.
