Ceola Leonard

Ceola Irene (Kight) Leonard, 94, of Ironton, entered her heavenly home on Saturday, June 20, 2015. Ceola was born May 24, 1921, in Chillicothe. She was the daughter of the late William Everett and Cora Bell (Moore) Kight. Ceola was the youngest of four children, all preceded her in death, Merlin Everett Kight, Margaret Ellen Kight, and Ruth Virginia Kight.

Ceola’s maternal grandparents were Thomas Jefferson and Margaret “Maggie” (Adams) Moore of Glenroy and her paternal grandparents were William E. and Sarah (Gregory) Kight of Richmondale.

Ceola was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Homer Stanley Leonard, and an infant grandson, Jimmy Dean Leonard

Mrs. Leonard attended school in Jackson and was a homemaker. She also worked on the assembly line during World War II at the National Fire Works Company in Londonderry. Ceola is survived by two sons, Jack Dean Leonard of Ironton and Charles Homer (Dixie) Leonard of Middleport; and a daughter: Sheila Ann Leonard Coombs of Columbus.

She is also survived by five grandchildren, Lori Ann Leonard Link of Greenup, Kentucky, Erin (Rob) Siemer, Breandan Coombs, Molly Sarvino, all of Columbus, and Jason Dean Leonard of Hammond, Louisiana; and three great grandchildren: Haeli and Kendyl Siemer of Columbus and W. Jase Leonard of Ponchatula, Louisiana.

Funeral services will be noon Wednesday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home with Brother Chad Pemberton officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson and visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Dannie Clark

Pastor Dannie Louis Clark, 76, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, entered the gates of Heaven on Sunday, June 21, 2015. He passed at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Kentucky.

Pastor Clark was born on Sept. 21, 1938, in Flatwoods, a son of the late Morton and Julie Grove Clark. He was also preceded in death by a son, Danny Louis Clark.

Pastor Clark was a member of Community Tabernacle in Raceland, Kentucky. He was retired from General Motors in Pontiac, Michigan, where he worked on the assembly lines.

Pastor Clark is survived by his loving wife of almost 57 years, Carol Jean Williams Clark; a daughter, Tammy Vickers of Flatwoods; two grandchildren, Kelly Clamser and Kyle Vickers; and a grandson, Cayleb Clamser; three brothers, Pat Clark of Columbus, Buck Clark and Joe Clark, both of Flatwoods; two sisters, Bessie Ison of Highland Heights, Kentucky, and DeDe Davis of Greenup, Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods with pastor Tom Jones and pastor Rick Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.

Joshua Blake

Joshua Lee Blake, 17, of Chesapeake, died Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Arrangements are pending at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home.

Earl Black

Earl Creff Black, Jr., 71, of South Point, formerly of Ona, West Virginia, died Sunday, June 21, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Betty Black of Chesapeake. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by pastor Buddy Muncy. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Mildred Beatrice Adkins, 81, of Scottown, died Friday, June 19, 2015, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky.
