David Bruce

Sept. 20, 1943-June 26, 2015

David Bruce, 71, of Ironton, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015, at Jo-Lin Health Center, Ironton. He was born Sept. 20, 1943, a son of the late Harold and Goldie Steed Bruce. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Don Bruce. He graduated from Dawson-Bryant High School, served in the Army National Guard, was a retired employee for AK Steel and a member of Jeffersonville Missionary Baptist Church of Coal Grove. David is survived by his wife of 29 years, Beverly Jenkins Bruce; two sons, Paul Bruce and Dean Bruce; two grandchildren, Annika Bruce and Alec Bruce; a sister, Sharon (Terry) Thomas of Chicago; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with pastor Eddie Neal officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Mary Hackworth

Mary Alice Hackworth, 85, of South Point, died Friday, June 26, 2015, at Heartland of Riverview in South Point. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery with the Rev. J.D. Chrissi Marie Holland, 33, of Huntington, West Virginia, formerly of Proctorville, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at home.
