Taco Bell customer vandalizes windows

 

SOUTH POINT — Taco Bell employees working the late shift got more than they bargained for when an irate customer allegedly broke two of the store’s windows after being told the restaurant was out of beef.

According to a report by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, this incident happened around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday after an employee working the drive-thru told a customer they could not serve items prepared with beef because they were out. The employee then apologized and offered other meat substitutions.

That’s when the customer allegedly became upset, yelling and cursing at the employee.

“The male subject started screaming saying he would come inside and shoot everyone,” according to the report. “The vehicle then pulled around and a black male got out with a tire iron and threw it at the drive through window. He then picked it back up and smashed the next window up. He then went to the next window and threw it into the window and busted it.”

The suspect then left the scene, leaving the tire iron behind, which was collected as evidence.

Witnesses at the neighboring McDonald’s also observed the incident.

The suspect, who remains unidentified, was described as a black male. The vehicle was described as a dark or gray van with West Virginia plates with primer on the driver’s side door and plastic on one of the driver’s side windows.

The restaurant’s windows were boarded up and were expected to be replaced early this week.
