Ruth B. Allen, 100, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Heartland of Riverview in South Point. The Lawrence County native was born Oct. 15, 1914, a daughter of the late Andrew and Francis Morgan Basham. She was the widow of the late Jonah Allen.

Mrs. Allen attended Campbell School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Central Christian Church in Ironton.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, John Allen; son-in-law, Earl Sheppard; and grandson-in-law, Gary Lawson.

She is survived by a daughter, Betty Sheppard of South Point; five grandchildren, Edward Sheppard, Kay (Sheppard) Lawson, James Allen, Leigh (Sheppard) Tyler and John Allen; six great- grandchildren, Eric Lawson, Stacee (Swan) Robison, Caleb Lawson, Dillon Swan, Ryan Allen and Aaron Allen; six great-great-grandchildren, Madison Lawson, Connor Lawson, Tristan Cataline, Nick Lawson, Silas Robison and Miah Allen; and good friends, Mary Valentine and RuthAnn and Freddy Hauser Funeral services will be noon Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with David Nunnally officiating.
