An Ironton woman arrested for allegedly trying to sneak drugs into the county jail was arraigned Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

Michelle Crank, 31, of 2163 County Road 22, Ironton, was arraigned on a count of illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto the grounds of a detention facility, to which she pleaded not guilty.

Judge Charles Cooper set bond at $10,000 cash or surety and $10,000 OR. A pretrial was set for July 29.

According to a report from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy received an anonymous tip that a woman was going to bring Suboxone to an inmate, which would be hidden in her jewelry.

The woman, identified as Crank, allegedly arrived at the jail that day and was asked to remove her jewelry before the visitation.

While Crank was visiting the inmate, another deputy searched her jewelry and allegedly found Suboxone taped to the underside of her watch, which was photographed and bagged as evidence. She was arrested after the visitation.

• Zachary Morrison, 27, of 44 Township Road 1325, Proctorville, admitted community control sanctions violations. Judge D. Scott Bowling sentenced the man to 11 months in prison with a judicial release to STAR when a bed is available.

• Vickie Newcomb, 28, of 1668 Township Road 25, South Point, admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to four months home confinement with GPS monitoring. Her probation will continue.

• James Ison Jr., 36, of 1388 County Road 4, Pedro, was arraigned on a bill of information of fifth-degree theft, to which he pleaded not guilty. Bowling set bond at $10,000 OR. A pretrial was set for July 29.

• Kristen Corbin, 25, of 1531 S. Fourth St., Ironton, was arraigned on a bill of information of fifth-degree theft, to which she pleaded guilty. Bowling was sentenced to four years CCS with intensive supervised probation, STAR, 200 hours community service and $300 restitution.

• Darrnell Wise, 34, of 31 Private Drive 8700, Proctorville, pleaded guilty to a fifth-degree count of forgery. Bowling sentenced to treatment in lieu of conviction and $5,000 restitution.

• Jacques Wooten, 33, 1173 County Road 1 Lot 47, South Point, was arraigned on a count of railroad grade crossing device vandalism and misdemeanor theft, criminal trespass and possession of criminal tools, to which he pleaded not guilty.

Bond was set at $5,000 surety plus $10,000 OR. A pretrial was set for Aug. 12.

• Randy Delong, 34, of 800 Fletcher Pike, South Charleston, was arraigned on a third-degree count of DUI and misdemeanor counts of driving under OVI suspension and operating a motor vehicle without reasonable control, to which he pleaded not guilty. Bowling set bond at $2,000 cash or surety and $10,000 OR. A pretrial was set for Aug. 12.

• Charles Adkins, 35, of 1020 Oak St. Apt. 2, Kenova, West Virginia, was arraigned on counts of railroad grade crossing device vandalism and misdemeanor theft and criminal trespass, to which he pleaded not guilty. Bond was set at $5,000 cash or surety and $10,000 OR. A pretrial was set at July 29.

• Cane Jackson, 41, of 3194 Bunts Ave., Lakewood, pleaded guilty to two fourth-degree counts of trafficking in heroin. Sentencing was set for July 29.

• Kailah Douglas, 29, of 401 Elm St., Ironton, admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to nine months in prison.

• Taylor Stephens, 24, of admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to out-patient drug treatment.

• Wendi Trogden, 54, of 830 Virginia Ave., Huntington, admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to five months in prison.
