Jeffrey Harper

Jeffrey Alan Harper, 54, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at a local health care facility. The Lawrence County native was born Aug. 28, 1960, a son of the late John S. and Betty L. Fleming Harper. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kenda Layne Harper, whom he married April 16, 1983.

Jeffrey was a 1979 graduate of Coal Grove High School and worked for 31 years as a housekeeper for Jo-Lin Health Center, before retiring in 2013. He was also an artist, loved to fish and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by father-in-law, Keith Layne.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Traci Harper and her fiancé, James A. Bailey of Ironton; granddaughter, Kendria M. M. Bailey of Ironton; sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and O.C. Leith III of Ironton; brother and sister-in-law, John D. and Phyllis Harper of Ironton; mother-in-law, Linda Layne of Coal Grove; and two sisters-in-law, Janie McKnight of Ironton, and Kristina Layne of Coal Grove.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Woodland Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

 

Wanda Clark

Wanda Lee Clark, wife of Darrell Adams, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Slack and Wallace Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

 

Mary Johnson

Mary Ann Johnson, 57, of Kitts Hill, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, at home. There will be private services. Arrangements are under the direction of Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

 

 

Willie White

Willie White, 40, of Lawrence County, died July 30, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Sara White. Graveside services will be conducted at noon on Sunday in the Le Grange Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating. The funeral procession will leave at 11:30 a.m. from Brown Funeral Chapel.
