Jim graduated from Mark Twain High School in Stotesbury, West Virginia, where he was the drum major of the marching band. He attended the University of Concord after serving in the U.S. Navy. Jim was a proud navy man having served on the USS Thomas (DE 102) during World War II. He enjoyed traveling to and organizing his many navy reunions.

Jim was a salesman of Amana products for Birch Distributors of South Point/Ashland for many years. And what a salesman he was! He continued using his selling talents in Sun City Center working for Anne’s Estate Sales with his good buddy, Gil Bennett.

Jim was proud of his family, proud to be a Navy man, and definitely proud to be from West Virginia. He was a West Virginia Mountaineer through and through.

Jim never knew a stranger. He was always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends. His friends became his family. We will miss his wit, his humor, and his love of life. Jim was a blessing to those whose lives he touched. He will live on in our memories as a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. Donations in Jim’s memory may be made to LifePath Hospice, 3723 Upper Creek Drive, Sun City Center, FL 33573.
