ILL fall baseball, softball signups

The Ironton Little League fall baseball and softball will be held from 2-3:30 p.m. on Sundays, Aug. 9 to Sept. 27, at the fields.

The leagues are open to any players ages 6 and older. Fee is $20 per player and $10 for each additional sibling.

Ironton football season tix on sale

Ironton Fighting Tigers’ season football tickets are now on sale.

Tickets for six homes games are $44. Checks should be made payable to IHS Athletic Dept.

PLEASE NOTE: Ticket orders MUST include a self-addressed stamped envelope — two to three stamps depending on the number of tickets ordered — and mailed to:

If a large amount of tickets are ordered, please apply extra postage. Please include a phone number with your order. Please do not drop off orders at the main office of the school or the auto shop garage, but instead contact the athletic department for any question or specific needs.

Tickets will be mailed out before the start of the regular season. If fans do not receive their tickets by Aug. 25, contact Mark LaFon at (740) 532-5235 during school hours.

Ironton has a strong and demanding schedule including all six home games.

The home schedule includes: Aug. 28 Wheelersburg; Sept. 4 Russell; Sept. 11 Beechwood, Ky.; Sept. 25 Portsmouth; Oct. 2 Fairland; Oct. 16 Rock Hill (senior night).

Ironton is entering the Ohio Valley Conference this season and has six league games.

The OVC football preview will be held Saturday, Aug. 15, at Ironton. See page 1B for matchups, times and admission fees.

 

IAYS final signups, coaches’ meeting

The Ironton Area Youth Soccer Association will conduct its late registrations for the 2015 fall season from 6-9 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, at the Ironton Fire Department.

A coaches meeting will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, at the Ironton Fire Department.

The league is for youths ages 4 to 12 with birthdays between Aug. 1, 2003, to July 31, 2011. Fee is $25 per youth and $20 for each additional sibling.

Youths must be registered by a parent or legal guardian.

Teams will be for under age 6 (co-ed), under 8 (co-ed), and under age 10 and under 12 for boys and girls.

 

Brandon Phillips bowling bash set

CINCINNATI — The Brandon Phillips’ Bowling Bash benefit event will be held Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Super Bowl in Erlanger, Ky.

Phillips and teammates will be on hand to raise money for the Reds’ Community Fund. Food will be available.

Doors open at 5:45 p.m. for VIP check-in and reception. Bowling begins at 5:30 for participants.

Levels are: $150 individual; $400 VIP bowler; $750 full lane group of five; $2,000 VIP full lane group of five; $75 spectator.

Registrants get Reds’ gift bag, group photo with Phillips, T-shirt, custom bowling pin, Phillips’ bobblehead and an autographed baseball by a Reds’ player plus two and one-half hours of bowling.

 

Patriots plan fall

The Huntington Patriots yearly fall developmental league and summer tryouts for ages 10u-17u will be held Aug. 25 to Oct. 3.

The league offers professional and collegiate instruction. Spots are limited.
