Ironton Mayor Rich Blankenship is taking and reviewing applications for the city wastewater superintendent position, recently opened following the death of Mike Shaw, a Class IV operator who previously had the position.

“I’m currently taking applications,” Blankenship said. “I have about three right now.”

Blankenship also said he will start interviewing next week as well as continue to take applications for the position.
