A Florida man who allegedly threatened Ironton Elementary School this past fall turned down his final plea offer and will go to trial at the end of the month.

Kyle Parramore, 24, of 4417 Hawksley Place, Wesley Chapel, is charged with a second-degree count of inducing panic following an incident in September in which he allegedly communicated a threat against the school on an anonymous Internet forum. That caused the closure of the school. The threat also resulted in school lock-downs across the county.

Lawrence County Prosecuting Attorney Brigham Anderson offered a plea deal of four years and 11 months in prison for the second-degree felony.

Parramore rejected that offer and a trial will be Aug. 27-28. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of eight years in prison.

In other common pleas court news, on Wednesday;

• Thomas Gillispie, 27, of 1400 County Road 120, South Point, pleaded guilty to a third-degree count of theft of a firearm. Another of the same charge was dismissed.

Judge D. Scott Bowling sentenced the man to nine months in prison.

• Frank Hill, 42, of 2206 S. Eighth St., Ironton, pleaded guilty to one count each of third- fourth- and fifth-degree trafficking in drugs. Additional counts of third-degree trafficking and complicity to trafficking in drugs were dismissed.

Bowling sentenced the man to four years 11 months in prison with a possible judicial release to STAR after two years, $6,250 in fines and a one-year driver’s license suspension. Hill was also ordered to forfeit $270 cash to the drug task force.

• Deantae Gray, 23, of 12617 Glenfield St., Detroit, Michigan, was sentenced to six months in prison for a fourth-degree count of complicity to trafficking in heroin, to which he previously pleaded guilty. Bowling also ordered the man to pay a $2,500 fine, suspended his driver’s license for six months and ordered him to forfeit $696 to the drug task force.

• Tyron Loyd, 33, with an address listed at the Grandview, was sentenced to six months in prison for a fourth-degree count of complicity to trafficking in heroin, to which he previously pleaded guilty. His driver’s license was also suspended for six months and he must forfeit $1,700 to the drug task force.

• Brian Metzler, 42, of 204 Dutey Drive, Coal Grove, was arraigned on a fifth-degree count of possession of drugs, to which he pleaded not guilty. Bond was set at $10,000 own recognizance and a pretrial was set for Sept. 16.

• Marla Laber, 39, of 1850 Ohio Furnace Road, Franklin Furnace, admitted community control sanctions violations and was sentenced to 10 months in prison.

• Ny-Thau Brown, 18, of 38 Township Road 1408 N., South Point, was arraigned on a third-degree count of tampering with evidence, to which she pleaded not guilty. Bond was set at $2,500 cash or surety plus $25,000 OR. A pretrial was set for Sept. 16.

• Jennifer E. Maher, 39, of 15510 State Route 243, Chesapeake, was arraigned on fifth-degree counts of receiving stolen property and forgery, to which she pleaded not guilty. Bond was set at $10,000 OR and $7,500 cash or surety and a pretrial was set for Sept. 16.

• Aaron Martin, 26, of 3449 County Road 103, Ironton, pleaded guilty to a count of fifth-degree theft. Bowling set sentencing for Sept. 9.

• David Rann, 21, of 109 Ella St., South Point, was arraigned on six counts fifth-degree counts of trafficking in heroin, to which he pleaded not guilty. Bond was set at $10,000 OR and $7,500 cash or surety. A pretrial was set for Sept. 9.
