ICC Ladies’ 9-Hole has full golf schedule

PINE GROVE — The schedule was full.

The Ladies Nine Hole Golf Association of the Ironton Country Club has plenty of golf to fill its schedule.

Here are some results and announcements:

Aug. 11 hostess: Betty Fraley.

Winners: Georgia Willis two events, Rose Auble, Becky Dillow.

Aug. 18 hostess: Diane Chamberlin.

Winners: Rose Auble, Becky Dillow three events.

Couples Night: instead of the original Friday schedule, Couples Night will shift to Thursday at 5 p.m. Couples are asked to bring finger foods.

Ladies 9-Hole Classic: Tournament chairman Pat Riggs arranged the pairings. Winners will be announced at a later date.

Morning play: After a brief business meeting at 9 a.m. with homemade breakfast items, the group plays golfing events followed by the lunch special. Lynn Bunker prepares the meals.

New members: The Ladies 9-Hole League invites new members to attend the weekly outings. The brief business meeting is at 9 a.m. followed by golf at 9:30 a.m.

Tournaments: Ringer Tournament continues. Handicap 9-Hole Tournament ended last week. The group thanked Ironton Country Club course superintendent Chip Johnson and his crew for maintaining the greens and course and keeping them in good condition.
