Programs at CAO benefit

A variety of factors can lead to a person in need of a new job, instruction relating to a job transition or transportation to or from a doctor’s appointment.

These are the types of benefits the Ironton-Lawrence County Community Action Organization (CAO) provide to residents when faced with change or an obstacle.

The Workforce Investment Program through the CAO and the partnership with the Tri-State Transit Authority (TTA) are both beneficial programs for residents to use for a variety of needs.

For many years, the resources were limited in regard to many of the needs met by these programs, and providing these assets afford a positive outlook when things may look the most bleak.

Using an approach that focuses on meeting the entire need of an individual or family rather than focusing solely on one aspect can allow a significant boost that is needed.

In the past, residents would have to search out many different facets of the agency if multiple needs existed. However, making changes a few years ago allowed for the resources to be more wisely used.

Helping our friends, family and neighbors is a cornerstone of what Lawrence County is about, and these programs are a good example of that.
