Court hears arraignments

Five of the six people arrested last week for selling prescription pills answered charges Thursday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

Dujuan Williams, AKA Wires, 26, of 16012 McGuire St., Detroit, Michigan, was arraigned on three third-degree counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs, to which he pleaded not guilty.

Judge Charles Cooper set bond at $75,000 cash or surety and a pretrial was set on Sept. 9.

Phillip McMullen, 34, of 49 Township Road 1013, South Point, was arraigned on a third-degree count of aggravated trafficking in drugs, to which he pleaded not guilty.

Cooper set bond at $50,000 cash or surety and a pretrial was set on Sept. 9.

Nichole McDerment, 35, of 69 Township Road 1026, Apt. 9, South Point, was arraigned on two third-degree counts of trafficking in drugs and a fourth-degree count of trafficking in drugs, to which she pleaded not guilty.

Cooper set bond at $25,000 cash or surety and a pretrial was set on Sept. 2.

Claudette Gibson, 41, of 49 Township Road 1013, South Point, was arraigned on two third-degree counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs, to which she pleaded not guilty. Cooper set bond at $25,000 cash or surety and a pretrial was set on Sept. 9.

Larry L. Curry, 51, of 791 County Road 31 Apt. A, Chesapeake, was arraigned on a third-degree count of aggravated trafficking in drugs, to which he pleaded not guilty. Cooper set bond at $25,000 cash or surety and a pretrial was set on Sept. 9.

In other cases, Ryan Fuller, 19, of 14460 State Route 7, Proctorville, was arraigned on a second-degree count of felonious assault and a third-degree count of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, to which he pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

Cooper ordered the man to be evaluated and set bond at $250,000 cash or surety.

Joseph Merrill Jr., 41, of 26 Private Drive 8202 County Road 1, South Point, was arraigned on a first-degree count of felonious assault, fourth-degree resisting arrest and misdemeanor domestic violence, to which he pleaded not guilty.

Cooper set bond at $250,000 cash or surety and set a pretrial for Sept. 9.

Marlene T. Paschall, 40, of 23034 Battelle Ave., Hazel Park, Michigan, was arraigned on second-degree counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs, to which she pleaded not guilty.

Cooper set bond at $150,000 cash or surety and set a pretrial for Sept. 9.
