2 runaways sought by authorities

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate two juvenile runaways.

The guardians of Tiffany Myers and Tanisha Spaulding, both 17 years old from the Chesapeake/South Point areas reported the girls, missing on Thursday after they failed to show up for school at the Collins Career Center. The guardians advised that they received phone calls from the school alerting them that they were not present for school that day.

Both Tiffany, Tanisha, and a third girl had planned to run away on the above mentioned day according to a release from the sheriff’s office. The third girl was later found by her parents but Tiffany and Tanisha have continued to elude their guardians and authorities. Leading up to this, both girls allegedly made threats to run away and had become unruly toward their guardians.

It is believed that tthese youths have been staying in the Huntington, West Virginia area and may be possibly trying to get to Charleston, West Virginia.

Tiffany Myers is from South Point. She is 5-foot-4, weighs 115 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. She could possibly be wearing blue jean Capris and a check shirt and possibly carrying a backpack.

Tanisha Spaulding is 1 from Chesapeake. She is 5-foot-2, weighs 110 pound with black hair and blue eyes. She could possibly be wearing blue jeans with holes in them or leggings and possibly carrying a backpack. She has a tattoo of a heart on her left hand.

Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Tiffany and Tanisha are urged to call the sheriff’s office at 740-532-3525. Both girls have been entered as runaways in the NCIC Computer System.
