James McFann

July 13, 1951 — Oct. 25, 2015

James T. “Jeff” McFann, of Winifrede, West Virginia, born July 13, 1951, to Ray and Helen Dolores Kitchen McFann in Ironton, passed away Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at Dunbar Center.

Jeff is predeceased by his loving parents and grandparents, Forest and Eliza Kitchen, and James and Ada McFann, both formerly of Pedro.

A service to honor the life of Jeff McFann will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, West Virginia. Family and friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Internment will follow in the mausoleum at Memory Gardens.

Harold Jarrell

Aug. 8, 1951 — Oct. 25, 2015

Harold Ray Jarrell, 64, of South Point, passed away Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Greenup County, Kentucky, native was born Aug. 8, 1951, a son of the late Elman Jarrell and Margaret McGary Jarrell. He was of the Protestant faith and attended Wurtland Schools. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Carolyn Kirk Jarrell.

Harold was a truck driver until he retired in 1997, and had a passion for NASCAR, racing cars with his buddies, woodworking, and shooting pool.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister, Charlene Madden; brother, Elman Jarrell Jr.; stepson, Kenneth Lee Kirk; mother-in-law, Mamaw Rose; and Grandma Jarrell.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Veronica Morriss and Tiffany Baptiste; son, Kevin Jarrell; stepsons, Shannon Kawlski and Carlos Bayes; stepdaughters, Cheryl Weed and Carla Weed; brothers, Vernon Jarrell, Ronald Jarrell and Lawrence Jarrell; sisters, Mary Dean Howard, Juanita Davis, Sharon Howard and Linda Milano; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; special cousin, Clarence Adkins; special friend, Tracy Romine; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Michael Hughes faithfully stayed at home and took care of his grandfather.

Harold Pruitt, Jr.

June 22, 1981 — Oct. 22, 2015

Harold (Bill) Pruitt, Jr. age 34, of Ironton, died at his home on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015. He was born June 22, 1981, the son of Harold and Charlotte Sisler Pruitt, of Ironton. Survivors include two sisters, Missy and Joey Kidd and Jeannie and Tim Murphy, both of Ironton. He was preceded by one brother, Mark Allen Pruitt; and one infant sister. Graveside services will be on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Hanging Rock Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home.

 

Glenn Stamper

Oct. 22, 1928 — Oct. 24, 2015

Glenn Voyle Stamper, 87, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, at a local health care center. The Decatur native was born Oct. 22, 1928, a son of the late John F. Stamper and Bertha Bellew Stamper.

Glenn attended Decatur Schools and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Armco in 1988, after 34 years of service, where he was a scrap burner. He was of the Baptist faith and lived his life in the Lawrence County area.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Deloris Barker Stamper; a daughter, Glenna Neal; one brother, Eugene Stamper; and three sisters, Faye Layne, Garnet Schroer and Cora Middleton.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Davis Stamper; son, Mark Alan Stamper, of Ironton; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Denny McGlothlin, of Ironton; son, Alvin Boyd, of Huntington, West Virginia; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Chuck Miller, of Huntington, West Virginia; brother, Harold Stamper, of Martins Ferry; sister, Charlene McClellan, of Ironton; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Scott Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be five grandsons and Milford Jenkins.
