Wanda Littlejohn

May 11, 1926 — Nov. 3, 2015

Wanda Jean Littlejohn, 89, of Ironton, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at her residence. The Ironton native was born May 11, 1926, a daughter of the late William R. and Bertha M. Martin Owens. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Raymond Littlejohn, who passed away Nov. 17, 1992.

Wanda Jean attended Kitts Hill High School and was a member at the New Valley Missionary Baptist Church. She retired from Wilson’s Sporting Goods after 30 years of service and was a volunteer at the Huntington, West Virginia Veterans Administration Medical Center. She volunteered 2,800 hours and was known as the popcorn lady at the hospital. She enjoyed taking care of her cats and dogs, gardening and canning vegetables.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ray E. “Buddy” Littlejohn; four brothers, William Owens, Donald Owens, Glen Owens, and Dick Owens; and a grandson, Ryan Harper.

She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Ann (George) Collins, of Kitts Hill and Sharon Kay (Bunk) Harper, of Ironton; two sons, Ronnie Dale (Emily) Littlejohn, of Ironton and Randy William (Denise) Littlejohn, of Kitts Hill; four sisters, Juanita Fairall, of Columbus, Helen Huff, Nancy (Steve) Martin, all of Ironton and Delores (Pete) Koenig, of Cincinnati; two brothers, Ralph (Judy) Owens, of Brooksville, Florida, and Gerald (Gail) Owens, of Dayton; nine grandchildren, Rod Collins, Chris Collins, Angie Littlejohn Harrah, Adam (Sharon) Littlejohn, Renee (Jerry) Rowe, Amy Harper, Joshua (Jami) Harper, Raymond Littlejohn and Lauren Littlejohn; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Larry Comer and George Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery and visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Rod Collins, Chris Collins, Adam Littlejohn, Joshua Harper, Raymond Littlejohn and Brady Rowe. Art Colburn, of Proctorville, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville.
