Bikes are still needed for the fifth annual Lawrence County Bicycle Giveaway.

The giveaway is organized by John Dickess, owner of Dickess Auto Repair, and Don Schwartz, general manager of the Ironton Advance Auto Parts.

“Right now we have 110 bikes,” Dickess said. “We’re still in need of about 100 bikes. We’re trying to get at least 200.”

Dickess and Schwartz help Lawrence County families who struggle to have Christmas by calling the schools and Head Start programs in the county to identify families in need.

Monetary donations and new bicycle donations are accepted for the giveaway and can be dropped off at Dickess Auto Repair or Advance Auto Parts, Dickess said.

Dickess Auto Parts is located at 212 S. Sixth St. and Advance Auto Parts is located at 615 Park Ave.

The bicycle giveaway is set for Saturday, Dec. 19 at 3 p.m. at St. Joseph High School.
