Award-winning pianist to perform at OUS

An acclaimed pianist is set to perform on Tuesday at Ohio University Southern.
Alina Kiryayeva will perform the program “Moving Pictures” at 7:30 p.m. in the Riffe Center Main Rotunda as part of the Community Concert Series.
The performance will be centered around the soundtrack for cartoons, featuring music used in Looney Tunes cartoons by Warner Brothers and Hanna Barbera’s “Tom and Jerry.” Works featured include those of Liszt, Chopin and Beethoven.
Kiryayeva has performed internationally, making appearances in more than a dozen countries.
She was the first prize winner of Italy’s Senigallia International Competition, and won top prizes in the Grace Welsh International Competition and the California Young Artist International Competition. She has been honored by Ukrainian President Leonid Kravchuk with the nation’s State Award for Achievements in Arts.
The concert is free and open to the public.
