RACELAND, Ky. — It might not have passed the so-called “eye test,” but Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers’ coach Doug Graham was happy with the site of the final score.

In a tedious performance, Ironton beat the Raceland Lady Rams 46-41 on Monday.

“It wasn’t a pretty game. There was no flow to the game,” said Graham.

“A win on the road is a win on the road and I’ll take it. We just have to move on and work hard and get better.”

Lexie Barrier scored a game-high 18 points to lead Ironton (2-0) while Cheyenne Scott added 10 points.

Krystal Keeton had 15 points and Savannah Mackie chipped in 9 points.

Scott scored 6 points in the first quarter to offset 8 by Mackie as Ironton took a 17-14 lead.

Barrier had 9 points in the second quarter and the defense limited Raceland to 6 points as the Lady Fighting Tigers built a 32-20 halftime lead.

Keeton got the hot hand and scored 9 points in the third quarter as the Lady Rams cut the deficit to 38-33, but Ironton was able to hold on for the win.

On Thursday, the Ironton junior varsity plays Huntington, W.Va., at 6 p.m. followed by the varsity against Portsmouth in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
