Janie Lewis

Nov. 14, 1964—Dec. 3, 2015

Janie Ellen Harmon Lewis, 51, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at her residence. The Ironton native was born Nov.14, 1964, a daughter of the late Wed  Harmon Sr. and Sharon Walters Harmon.

Mrs. Lewis was a 1983 graduate of Rock Hill High School, a homemaker and a former employee for Bryant’s Nursing Home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene Gipson; and a brother, Ronald Ray Harmon.

She is survived by a daughter, Amanda Dawn (Darin M. Kelley) Lewis of Ironton; four grandchildren, Hunter James Kelley, Angel Marie Lewis, Jason Skylar Lewis and Isabella May Lewis; two stepsons, Paul David Lewis Jr. and David Ray Lewis, both of Ironton; three sisters, Constance K. (Jonathan) Nelson, Brenda Lee (Robert) Lewis, all of Ironton and Angela Depriest of South Point; three brothers, Charles Kelly (Kathy) Harmon, Wed (Teresa) Harmon Jr. and David (Barbara) Harmon, all of Ironton

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home with Elder Glenn Jenkins and Pastor Kenny Waller officiating. Burial will follow in Hanging Rock Cemetery and visitation will be Monday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Paul Bricker

Paul Eugene Bricker, 79, of Chesapeake, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at River’s Bend Health Care Center, South Point. Funeral service will be conducted today at 3:30 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by minister Bill Chatterton. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Visitation will be today from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Nancy Bartrum

Nancy Dora Bartrum, 81, of South Point, wife of Paul Edward Bartrum, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at Main Street Freewill Baptist Church, Coal Grove. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Highland Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 9-11 a.m. today at the church. Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, is in charge of arrangements.

 

 

Rev. Max Donahue

Nov. 3, 1933-Dec. 4, 2015

Rev. Max Eugene Donahue of Worthington, Kentucky, died peacefully at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at the age of 82 after a brief illness.

Rev. Donahue is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia Snider Donahue; son, Gregory (Barbara Oney) Donahue of Greenup, Kentucky; daughter, Kimberly Panzino of Grove City; grandchildren, Ryan (Samantha) Donahue of Elizabeth, Colorado, Alexandria (Bradley) Carroll and Ashley Panzino of Grove City; and great grandchild, Peyton Donahue of Elizabeth, Colorado. He is also survived by brother, David Jay Donahue and sister Phyllis Donahue of Lancaster.

He is preceded in death by grandson, Cpl. Max William Donahue USMC (Afghanistan 2010), parents, Clarence and Margaret Campbell Donahue, and brother Paul Donahue.

Rev. Donahue was born on Nov. 3, 1933, in Lancaster. Shortly after his marriage to Patricia, he was ordained Elder and Minister in the Methodist Church where he served 60 years pastoring congregations within the Ohio West Conference. Most recently, Rev. Donahue has pastored the Centenary Slab Fork United Methodist Church in Pedro for the past 30 years. Other churches pastored in Lawrence County include Coal Grove and Lawrence Furnace.

He also worked as a sales professional at Sears in Ashland for 25 years.

Max was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who touched thousands of people though his years of ministry preaching the simple Gospel of Jesus Christ.

A celebration of life service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Brent Watson and Dr. Daron Newman officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from noon until time of the service at the funeral home. A short service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Thorpe Church, 6090 Oakthorpe Road, Thornville, with Mark Snider officiating with viewing beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Oakthorpe Cemetery.

Tina Arthur

Tina Rebecca Arthur, 50, of Chesapeake, Virginia, died Wednesday Dec. 2, 2015, at Sentura Virginia Beach General Hospital, Virginia Beach, Virginia.  Funeral service will be conducted noon Monday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.  Burial will follow in Chinn Black Family Cemetery, Lavalette, West Virginia.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon on Monday at the funeral home.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.
