Phyllis Turner

Aug. 18, 1943 — Dec. 23, 2015

Phyllis Turner, 72, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Amherstdale, West Virginia native was born Aug. 18, 1943, a daughter of the late Lundy Roy and Dorothy Louise Goff Nunnery. She is survived by her husband, Francis “Sonny” Turner.

Phyllis was a graduate of Logan High School in West Virginia and Ashland School of Beauty. She was a hairdresser at Today’s Image and Terry’s Beauty Shop, retiring in 2007 and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ironton. She loved being with her family and loved her grandkids.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Stephen Turner, of New Albany and John (Denise) Turner, of Ironton; three grandchildren, Morgan Turner, John Turner, Jr. and Avery Turner, all of Ironton; two brothers, Ron (Elaine) Nunnery and Tom Nunnery, all of Nashville, Tennessee; and a sister-in-law, Mary Pyles, of Wallbridge.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery and there will be no public visitation. Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Donations may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Joseph Catholic High School, 905 S. Margaret Wilgus

Margaret Evelyn Wilgus, 73, of Proctorville, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at New Hope United Methodist Church, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Sunday at the church. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is in charge of arrangements. Rodney Miller, Jr.

Rodney Garland Miller, Jr., 60, of Proctorville, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, at home. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Ellis Miller. Funeral service will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by pastor Greg Creasy. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Proctorville.  Proctorville VFW Post 6878 will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
