NEW BOSTON — The Rock Hill Redwomen are making up the FBI 10 most wanted list.

Redwomen coach Greg Damron admitted his team stole a win from the New Boston Lady Tigers 51-50 on Monday at the New Boston Holiday Tournament.

Rock Hill shot just 30 percent from the field and leading scorer Kaci Russell fouled out with 9 points.

“We stole one. I was surprised we didn’t get pulled over and arrested on the way home,” said Damron. “We’re finding ways to win and we definitely had a team effort tonight.”

Jill Hairston’s 3-point goal with 14 seconds left gave Rock Hill a 51-50 lead. New Boston missed a shot with two seconds left and Hairston grabbed the rebound.

Hairston hit five 3-pointers for 15 points to lead Rock Hill (6-3). Anna Darby had a double-double with 10 points and 17 rebounds.

Kyleigh Noel came off the bench to score 8 points, Russell had 9 points and 4 steals while Sami Dillon took two charges and had 4 rebounds.

“Hairston stepped up, Darby played her usual game and Kyleigh Noel came off the bench and did a nice job,” said Damron.

Mariah Buckley scored 17 points and Ali Hamilton 15 for New Boston (4-5).

Hairston hit a pair of 3-pointers in the first quarter and the game was tied at 13.

Noel knocked down a couple of 3-pointers in second quarter as Rock Hill led 32-26 at the half.

Hairston drained two more triples in third quarter and the lead was just 40-38.

Rock Hill faces Minford in the tournament title game at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday. The Redwomen host Portsmouth next Monday.
