Corey Willis

May 27, 1991 — Dec. 26, 2015

Corey Kenneth Willis, 24, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, at his residence. He was born May 27, 1991, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, a son of Beth Willis, of Kenova, and Ronald and Michelle Willis, of Summersville, West Virginia. Corey was a graduate of Coal Grove High School where he played football, basketball and baseball.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Seth A. Willis; maternal grandmother, Wanda Franklin; and his paternal grandmother, Roxie Blevins. Besides his parents, survivors include his beloved wife, Jessica Jenkins Willis; cherished daughter, Baylee Marie Willis; one sister, Meredith Ashlee Willis, of Kenova; one stepbrother, Timmy Dillon, of Summersville; one aunt, Cristy Franklin (James), of Huntington; great-uncle, Coach Carl Ward, who treated him as a grandson; mother and father-in-law, John and Angie Jenkins, of Ironton; sister-in-law, Bethany Jenkins, of Ironton; and special friends, KeeKee Sutfin, of Ceredo, West Virginia, Elaine Craycraft, of Kenova, West Virginia, and Coach Barry Scraggs, of Kenova.

Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Thursday at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. with pastor Brad Jenkins and eulogist Dave Lucas officiating. Carla Voiers

Jan. 20, 1955 — Dec. 28, 2015

Carla Mae Klaiber Voiers, 60, of Ohio Furnace, passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. The Ironton native was born Jan. 20, 1955, a daughter of the late Carl and Olga Hitchcock Klaiber. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Larry Voiers, whom she married March 12, 1976.

Carla was a 1973 graduate of Green High School and a purchasing coordinator for Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, retiring after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Franklin Furnace Independent Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a former Sunday school teacher.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Willie Hitchcock; and her paternal grandparents, John and Ruth Klaiber.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Carrie (Bill) Fox, of Haverhill, and Michele (Lee) Bower, of McDermott; a son, Justin (Traci) Voiers, of Ohio Furnace; two grandchildren, Cassandra Maye Kellogg and Evan Lee Bower; her siblings, Mike (Kathy) Klaiber, of Ohio Furnace, Terry Lee (Cindy) Klaiber, of Hazleton, Pennsylvania, Barry (Frannie) Klaiber, of Haverhill, Tim (Krysti) Klaiber, of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, and Sandi (Lee) Cherry, of Ohio Furnace; her maternal grandmother, Myrtle Hitchcock; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Franklin Furnace Independent Baptist Church with pastor Dennis Hankins officiating. Burial will follow in Buckeye Cemetery and visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, and from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Janice Brown

July 25, 1938 — Dec. 28, 2015

Janice Marie Brown, 77, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at her residence. The Ironton native was born July 25, 1938, a daughter of the late Oscar and Leora Mayo Gore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Richard Brown, whom she married March 9, 1957, and he passed away Dec. 27, 2009.

Mrs. Brown was a 1956 graduate of Rock Hill High School, loved yard work and the outdoors. She was a homemaker and formerly attended the Church of Christ in Ironton.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Irma Mae Doolin, Wynema Patterson and Nita Malone.

She is survived by a son, Rick (Rhonda) Brown of Pedro; two daughters, Terri (Larry) McKenzie, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, and Debbie (Greg) Keatley, of Ironton; six grandchildren, Haley and Emily Brown, Alyssa McKenzie, Laura Beth McKenzie, Justin Brown and Jessica Keatley; a brother, Joe (Barb) Gore, of Kitts Hill; and three sisters, Nancy (Bill) Fearing, of Forestdale, Norma Jean Harper, of Catlettsburg, and Rosemary Kellogg of Lenoir, North Carolina.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Vesuvius Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home. Dale Saunders

Dale Garrett Saunders, 73, of Ironton, died on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. Arrangements are pending at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home.

 

Betty Chafin

Anthea Boarman

Anthea Boarman, 71, died, Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Kentucky. She was cremated. Arrangements were by Brown Funeral Chapel in Ironton.

Roberta Kruger-Dasher, 66, of Ashland, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Carman Funeral Home with visiting for friends and family after 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Catlettsburg Cemetery.
